Choctaw History
I'm Choctaw, a tribe that is one of the original "Southeast Indian" tribes. We were farmers, who put aside livestock and food for our children to have upon reaching adulthood. The Choctaw believed in caring for our neighbors, they often fed their surplus to the neighboring tribes. The Choctaw believed in investing our resources now to help the next generation. The Choctaw practiced sustainable agriculture. The Choctaw elected leaders and sought peace with the settlers.
The Choctaw were the first tribe that the Indian Removal Act was utilized on. The Choctaw were the first tribe Andrew Jackson and his white supremist supporters were able to use our government for his quest of genocide in the name of white supremacy.

The Indian Removal Act required that the negotiations be peaceful. The Choctaw voted "nay" in majority on leaving our land. The US Government used threat of death and invasion. We were coerced into voting again, and desired to have a representative in the House of Representatives, as seen in the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek.

The Choctaw left their land in what became known as the Trail of Tears, those men, women, and children that remained on their land were slaughtered by the US Army. The US Government then used biological warfare in committing genocide against the Choctaw by purposely using blankets which were inoculated with small pox. Choctaw men, women, and children were purposely killed by the US Government, again.
When the Choctaw arrived, in today Oklahoma, they found the land had terrible soil fertility, known today as related to cation exchange capacity and nutrient uptake availability, and they could not produce enough food to feed themselves. This disruption of their traditional practice that which otherwise would provide nutrient dense food to their people instead ensured a decline in health in all the tribe for current members and further exacerbated in later generations. This can be read in "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" by Dr. Price.

When the Choctaw arrived, in today Oklahoma, they found white supremist controlling government that would allow racial discriminations. The same problems persisted as before the treaty, white supremist continued to take land and utilize state resources to assist the white supremists while blocking the native people from remedy. White supremacy is intertwined with Oklahoma state history. The first police force in Oklahoma was formed to catch run away slaves, and post civil war the Tulsa Race Massacre was perpetuated against black people by white people who had been deputized by the state.

I am the first Choctaw to declare candidacy, by utilizing the treaty we were coerced to sign, the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek.
